Despite Kedah Mentri Besar Azizan Abdul Razak's persistent health problems, PAS's national leadership has decided to field him in the upcoming general election.
"He is on the list (of candidates)," confirmed PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang when met at a function in Kuala Lumpur today.
Abdul Hadi brushed aside suggestions that Azizan would be a liability because of his health issues.
"Everyone has health issues, even me," he said.
On whether Azizan was PAS' nominee as the Kedah menteri besar, Abdul Hadi said this would be revealed on nomination day.
Azizan's health issues and leadership style - which has occasionally caused conflict with Pakatan Rakyat component parties - has often raised questions on whether PAS would allow him to again lead Kedah PAS.
He has undergone conorary bypass surgery in 2005 and an angioplasty procedure in 2011.
