Yazid, Halimah claim trial to terrorism charges

The trial of the first two individuals detained under the Security Offences (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) will be heard from May 20.

"Not guilty, and I claim trial" was the response by Yazid Sufaat(right) and Halimah Hussein, after the respective charges were read out to them at the Kuala Lumpur High Court this morning.

Yazid is accused of promoting terrorist acts in Syria, while Halimah is accused of being his accomplice.

Another detainee, Mohd Hilmi Hasim, will have his habeas corpus application heard in the same court on Feb 25.
