Is MCA still a viable party?

The major problem here with MCA, is this Chinese-based political party who always claim to be the sole representative of the Chinese community in the government, still a viable party?

Recently, the MCA president Dr Chua Soi Lek has to resort to threatening the entire leadership of the Barisan Nasional (BN) with his resignation as party chief, should the current Pandan MP and former MCA president Ong Tee Keat were to be selected again to defend his constituency come next general election. Why has Dr Chua has to resort to such move or threat in order to pressure the BN leadership to withdraw their choice on Tee Keat?

What we can assess over here is, the MCA is always subject to whatever Umno wants or prefer. Dr Chua nor MCA cannot even have their rights to spell out their own list of candidates to contest in the next general elections.

If Dr Chua wishes to show and prove to the entire Chinese community that MCA is still relevant and can effectively represent the community, then he should be brave enough to tell of the Umno president and BN chairman Najib Razak that "enough is enough" and Najib or his Umno men should stop dictating who should be the candidate for MCA and otherwise.

And if Najib or none of the Umno leaders would listen to him, then Dr Chua should be man enough to quickly tender his resignation as MCA president or to be more radical in sense, take MCA out of the BN coalition in order to prove to the Chinese community that MCA is still viable. The problem lies here, is Dr Chua strong

Otherwise, Dr Chua is merely proving to the people the fact of his cowardice and MCA is nothing but a running dog for Umno.
