Najib: BN will do what’s best for Kelantan

KUALA KRAI, March 15 — Datuk Seri Najib Razak said the people of Kelantan should give Barisan Nasional (BN) the mandate in the 13th general election (GE13) as the BN government will do what is best for them.
The prime minister said that as a responsible government, all the pledges made to develop the state, including the seven projects announced during his visit in January, would be fulfilled.
“The Barisan Nasional pledges are promises fulfilled,” Najib(picture) said when addressing more than 45,000 people at the “Gathering Of The People With The Leader” at the Mara Junior Science College (MRSM) Kuala Krai here today.
Najib, who is on a one-day visit to Kelantan, said action was being taken to implement the seven projects including the construction of the highway from Kuala Krai to Kota Baru, which would not only benefit the people in the district of Kuala Krai but the whole state.
He said the BN government would also resolve the problem of clean water supply faced by the people following the failure of the PAS-led state government to address the matter despite having ruled the state for more than 22 years.
Criticising the action of the state government in giving land to a leader of an opposition party from another state, Najib said the BN government was prepared to give land to the people of Kelantan who were “longing” to own land.
The prime minister also criticised opposition leaders who only knew how to make pledges but failed to deliver them and this could be seen not only in Kelantan but also Selangor.
He said PAS, which was willing to “kneel down” before DAP leaders, failed to carry out its struggles to implement an Islamic nation and hudud law which it had been propagating all this while.
Najib said the BN government was prepared to develop the state by bringing in massive investments so that many jobs could be created for the younger generation.
Najib wanted the people in the state to reject the PAS leadership which belittled the numerous aids given such as the 1 Malaysia People’s Aid (BRIM) channelled by the federal government to the people, by describing it as fodder for livestock.
The prime minister was confident that the increasing support given to the BN demonstrated that the people were eager to give their mandate to the BN in the 13th general election. — Bernama
