Lies, lies, lies in holy month of Ramadan

YOURSAY 'I guess we have to stop appealing to Najib or any Umno leaders for sanity and moderation. Feudalistic and dynastic Umno will never change.'

'Karpal presidency' mocks Umno's Ramadan politics

your sayBernard Phillips: Deputy Agriculture Minister Tajuddin Abdul Rahman reminds me of a village ‘samseng' or bully (by claiming that DAP would singlehandedly amend the federal constitution to turn Malaysia into a republic and install Karpal Singh as the country's president.)

He knows he has political power but unfortunately he has a tiny brain and cannot intellectually argue or explain government policies that he could sell to the voters.

So we get this cheap trick. I hope that Kuala Besut voters will show him and the Umno candidate where to get off the bus.

MatrixLYN: Umno should just say that DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang would be installed as Agong if PAS wins. It makes a more interesting and tongue wagging tale at kopitiam gossip sessions.

Anonymous_3ee4: The people of Kuala Besut have to decide for themselves in this holy month whether they want liars, cheats and immoral leaders to ‘educate' them or they want the truth.

Siang Malam: Don't expect the minority 46.5 percent PM to say anything - he won't, he can't and he's afraid to.

JomUbahUbah: All these 'national reconciliation' and 'Global Movement of the Moderates' initiatives are only empty slogans meant for naive people to believe in. Corrupt Umno and BN are extreme, racist and abusive.

Odin: Foreign Minister Anifah Aman's promotional tour in Europe is nothing more than gallivanting, as he was promoting something that his government itself not only does not practise but goes against.

His expenses for his seven-day stay is a big waste of money - money that could be used to feed the poor (of which there are many) in his home state of Sabah.

I am totally disgusted at how those despicable sub-humans continue to push concepts that can be best described as a farce without any element of humour, and while doing so waste public funds.

The ‘Global Movement of the Moderates' and ‘1Malaysia' concepts reflect very well the hypocrisy and deceiving nature of the party that conceived them.

Hang Tuah PJ: Someone should have taken a video clip of Tajudin's speech and send it to the Global Movement or upload in YouTube.

Onyourtoes: I guess we have to stop appealing to Najib or any Umno leaders for sanity and moderation. Feudalistic and dynastic Umno will never change; it is the party's ethos and philosophy.

In the dying days of the Ching Dynasty of imperial China, they also talked about reforms and change but we know the outcome of this.

We are reminded constantly to learn from history, but history will keep repeating because very few lived long enough to experience it twice.

Fairnessforall: Even in the month of Ramadan, they have no qualms about telling blatant lies.

Wildboar: A Muslim is one who practises the teaching of Islam. If my religion preaches that I must not steal, not kill, not cheat, not drink anything intoxicating, not be corrupt but I do all these, then can I still call myself a follower of that religion?

I believe even God will not accept me. So a Muslim is not for one to say whether he/she is or is not, but rather define by one's practice.

Justice Seeker: This is just routine, what kind of mentality do you expect from BN leaders who have been elected by the rural folk? Most of them are illiterate who live by the proverb ‘kasi pagi makan pagi, kasi petang makan petang'.

They are the ones who make up the 47 percent of the BN's popular votes and installed the BN leaders into power. The Umno leaders lead a kingly lifestyle and those who voted them lead a beggar's life - what an irony.

Appum: It is not just for the by-election that these nincompoops have to be seen as fearless defenders of ‘agama and ketuanan Melayu' but also because, or maybe more so, of the upcoming Umno party election.

Their motive is very transparent. Indeed, it's the only time they practise transparency.

Anonymous #69337042: This pea-brained deputy minister of agriculture reminds me of Sanusi Junid, the ex-agriculture minister who became a laughing stock for suggesting farmers plant padi on roof tops of their houses.

When are these so-called "leaders" going to stop using race/religion/royalty issues to spook the ignorant rural folks in order to win votes? Why must they stoop so low to make themselves targets of ridicule?

Aarvidi: I don't see PM Najib Razak commenting on these crucial issues. Has he lost his voice or was he told by his mentor, Dr Mahathir Mohamad, to follow the three wise monkeys - "see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil".

I know sometimes silence is golden, but isn't our PM overdoing it? Please speak up.
Jaguh: Well, Tajuddin's statement just indicates the depth and intelligence of our ministers who run this country. And Najib is just letting these idiots run wild. - Malaysiakini
