Regent of Perak: Utusan Malaysia is not racist

HRH Regent of Perak Raja Nazrin Shah Ibni Sultan Azlan Shah opined that nationalist Malay daily Utusan Malaysia is not a racist paper. According to him, neither is Senior Assistant Chief Editor Dato’ Zaini Hassan for defending Lancome Sales Manager Melissa Gooi and her friends for their rude and scathing remark against His Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda Yang DiPertuan Agong XIV is his official birthday celebration titah early June.

Zaini and Utusan Malaysia have been demonised as ‘racists’ for their opinion, standing up for the Malays and their arguments on what had been clearly provided by the Federal Constitution. Particularly, in matters pertaining the position of HRH Rulers, Special Malay Rights, Islam as the religion of the Federation of Malaysia, Malay as the national language and other related issues.
They were both sued by then Selangor State Exco and DAP MP for Seputeh and ADUN for Kinrara Teresa Kok for Zaini’s weekly Utusan Malaysia column Cuit “Azan, Jawi, Jais, UiTM dan ba-alif-ba-ya” on 10 September 2008.

Teresa Kok agrees her name not specifically mentioned in ‘Cuit’ column of Utusan M’sia

Posted on June 27, 2013, Thursday
KUALA LUMPUR: Seputeh Member of Parliament Teresa Kok Suh Sim agreed in the High Court here yesterday that her name was not specifically mentioned in the ‘Cuit’ column of Utusan Malaysia five years ago.
Kok also agreed that only the names of Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim and former menteri besar Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo were mentioned in the article under the heading, “Azan, Jawi, Jais, UiTM dan ba-alif-ba-ya”, which was published on Sept 10, 2008.
“I agree that only Khir Toyo and Khalid’s names were mentioned in the article and no other leader (Yang Berhormat)’s name,” she said during cross-examination by Counsel Mohana Kumar TKB, who is representing Utusan Malaysia and columnist Datuk Mohd Zaini Hassan, in her RM30 million defamation suit against them.
However, Kok, who is represented by Counsel SN Nair, said readers who read the whole article would know it referred to her.
She said Utusan did not contact her to get her comments on the article in the ‘Cuit’ column.
She also said that the defendants never interviewed her on the issues mentioned in the article before publishing it.
Questioned by Mohana whether she agreed that when Mohd Zaini wrote the column, he was bound by journalism ethics not to reveal the names of his sources, she answered, “I don’t agree”.
She also disagreed with counsel that Utusan Malaysia was not biased in its reporting.
Meanwhile, Kok admitted that Pakatan Rakyat boycotted Utusan Malaysia at the end of May 2008, but said reporters from Utusan were still invited to, and attended Pakatan Rakyat’s press conferences in Selangor.
On Oct 9, 2008, Kok filed the suit claiming that the article had portrayed her as a person who could not be trusted, a bad politician, a racist and anti-Islam.
She contended that the article was also made widely accessible throughout Malaysia and the world through Utusan’s online service, resulting in her reputation and integrity being tarnished.

The Opposition have been continuously and consistently demonising Utusan Malaysia as ‘racists’ in the ‘Politics of Hatred’ strategy. When they did not manage to convince the majority of the Malays for Utusan Malaysia’s nationalist stance as being ‘racist’, they decided to take the Malay daily to court whenever any reporting or analysis were written and published against them and they were trapped for their own mischievous if not sinister politicking.
This is an attempt to shut them out as these Opposition leaders and minority mischievous and socio-political deviants are unable to rationalise their ‘Politics of Hatred’ tactical moves, being exposed, commented and analysed by Utusan Malaysia.

Even when Utusan Malaysia published the front page “Apa lagi Cina mahu?” as an immediate reaction to the shocking 13GE result and as a follow up to Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Mohd. Najib Tun Razak’s own instantaneous reaction the night the election results start to roll in as “Chinese Tsunami”, Chinese media tried to paint Utusan Malaysia as ‘racist’.
However, Prime Minister Najib turned to compare Utusan Malaysia against the Chinese dailies, which according to him “What about the Chinese papers? Are the Chinese papers saying the right things all the time?”.
The fact is that the DAP is the Chinese Chauvinist lot and their premeditated racism and hatred scathing attacks are the main cause for the huge divide between the Malays and Non Malays, especially the Chinese. They have been on structured, consistent and progressive attacks against the authorities which are controlled by the Malays since their inception in 1967.
It has been proven that nothing is spared, which include HRH Rulers.
Is this racism or inline to the provisions of the Federal Constitution?
They also continuously thread across seditious line and systematically attempted to challenge the limit of the system. Whenever any action is taken against them particularly on Sedition Act 1948, then they cry foul as if they are victims of persecution and draconian authorities.

The fact is that, Utusan Malaysia has been proven time and again that their reporting is accurate, even though it is often seen or pictured as demonising the minorities and their agenda. Continuously, actually bought some into this strategyand joined the foray of attacks.
Take a look closely at this Youtube recording, where DAP MP for Jelutong Jeff Ooi demanded Utusan Malaysia and pro-UMNO blogger BigDog to apologise to Christians, right after finished making a Police report in Penang North East IPD on 8 May 2011. Notice one of the persons who stood behind Ooi.
Utusan Malaysia has been consistent as a nationalist paper, where the agenda of the nation comes first. It is about standing by and up for the Federal Constitution all the while and they have never been proven otherwise.

It is time that Utusan Malaysia stand up against them. Malaysians should no longer be fed with their consistently scathing lies, in their zest to come into power and denying the rights and aspirations of the majority.
It is about the combination of being righteous for the sake of the nation and upholding the principle of freedom of press. Today, HRH Regent of Perak who is also a political science researcher already absolved Utusan Malaysia as being a true Malaysian paper. - bigdogdotcom
