Sanjeevan had an "internal memo": Don't block police probe - Anwar, Rafizi tell Zahid

SHOT BY GUNMEN: Musa Hasan's anti-crime chief in critical condition, time to tell-all
PKR leaders urged Home Minister Zahid Hamidi to allow a full investigation into the shooting of crime activist R Sri Sanjeevan before "assuming" the police were not involved in any way.
"My advice to Zahid is to allow for full and thorough investigations to be carried, you cannot assume without a full investigation," Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim told a press conference on Monday.
"I know he may be trying to be a good boss and coming to the defence of the police. But don't do this at the expense of the public who deserve better security and also why should rogues in the force escape. They should be brought to justice."
Anwar and Rafizi Ramli, the MP for Pandan, were among the last few who had spoken to Sanjeevan before he was shot on Saturday. The crime activist had approached the Opposition leaders for help in making public his secret findings.
"Sanjeevan was due to expose the case this week. So there is no way Zahid should preclude anything at this point in time," said Rafizi.
"He told me he had obtained an internal memo from police sources and based on this, he said his allegations involved a lot of people. I was hesitant and was not quite convinced (if we should proceed). But he was very keen on making public the case because he said based on the charges the police were considering, it involved drugs that were worth a huge sum of money."
Rafizi said he was not given a copy of the "internal memo" but was sure there "will copies floating all over the place". There has been concern Sanjeevan's allegations could come to a dead end should he fail to survive an operation to remove a bullet from his rib cage.
"Normally we would make at least 50 copies (when it comes to documents of such sensitivity)," said Rafizi
