The government is seeking more than RM12 billion from the Consolidated Fund for additional expenditure on its various services and purposes.
The Supplementary Supply Bill was tabled by Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Maslan today in Parliament, requesting for a total of RM12,171,171,358 for several sectors namely security, social, economic, and general administration.
The highest amount requested from the supplementary fund is RM3,392,136,500 for the Ministry of Education, followed by the Treasury General Services amounting to RM3,348,503,400.
The rest includes Contribution to Statutory Funds amounting to RM2,375,673,200, and RM1,769,851,500 additional funding for the Ministry of Health.
The Election Commission is requesting for an additional RM60 million, the Home Ministry RM463,622,300, while the Prime Minister's Department is seeking RM366,948,598 in additional funding.
