An alert villager foiled an attempt by three men to steal three cows after loading the cattle into a Proton Wira in Sungai Lembu, Jerantut, Pahang.
The Star reported a witness, who wished to remain anonymous, alerted a voluntary patrol unit in the area after witnessing the thieves struggling to load the unconscious cows into the car, which was without a backseat.
He said that one of the three men drove the car, while the other two followed on motorcycles.
“As they were about to reach the main road, the patrol unit arrived and tried to stop them.
“The driver rushed out of the car and hopped onto one of the motorcycles and fled,” he added.
It took the villagers about three hours to unload the dazed cows from the car. A police spokesman said the cattle owner had lodged a report.
